I have just purchased and towed a 26' travel trailer (in 100 degree temps) that is between 5000 and 5500 lbs. and I have had no issues, even in the mountainous raods here in New Mexico... The fastest I travel is 65mph and really try to stay at 60mph. on the interstates... Then again, I have an '03 HSE7 Disco., so we are not in identical in trucks...

IMO, as long as you have brakes and a properly set brake controller, a friction sway, and a proper ball and ball mount, you shoulld be fine. Watch your temperature and I suggest a cooling flush with a max of 35% dex-cool and adding a pint of purple ice.

Good luck and be safe!
