I've got pictures and I'll post them up later.
Basically it's a device that takes pre heated air and helps reduce emissions by injecting it or something.
When you see the picture you'll realize its function.
There is usually a sound, loud humm, from the heater and it runs for 35 seconds or so on startup each day. It shuts off. It didn't start up at all yesterday.
I'm going to look at the fuses and see if it is popped.
The major concern I have now is all the stuff reporting shorted to ground! I didn't touch anything that would do that. The only thing dependent on ground are the coil packs, distributor stuff the plug wire go into at the back of the engine.
This is very disappointing.
I'll have more data later today when I get back under there.
