You literally create a "Frankenstein" sound system by adapting "this" to "that". Save your self a lot of headaches and simply change out the whole thing. The factory amp is located in the rear door and is incorporated in the speaker assambly. You will find that you cannot simply replace it with another, certainly not in the same location. Just disconnect it and leave it, or as I did with mine is strip it out and use the cavity (covered with the original speaker mesh) as an extra tool carrying compartment.
You can replace the tweeters in the A pillar, most aftermarket ones will fit, and if memory serves me correct, the wiring is the same as the front speakers.
Trying to hook everything up to operated off the buttons on your dash is another matter. Some members on this forum might have some other ideas, but I just use the remote that comes with any new head unit, and have allocated the 'empty buttons' other uses, such as switching my Lockers on and off.
