Question Springs for Diesel conversion

Hi Guys,
I'm about to put a Prima 3300 diesel into a 1972 series 3 which already has had an upgrade of a 2.5 NA petrol. I've also got a 1976 2.25 NA diesel which I've just replaced the front springs on.
I notice that the diesel springs are a lot bigger on the old diesel.
What I want to know is - Should I replace the petrol springs with heavier ones for the modern diesel - which is lighter than the old lump?
I would go for parabolics if I could afford them. Is there anything else I should know about? - has anyone else done this conversion?

Cheers.
