For a 2 inch lift you should not have to extend the steering shaft. The lift itself is very easy, you can do it in half a day. It is the lining up the front and rear bumpers and other realignment that takes a little time. Fitting the kits by relatively unskilled people should not be an issue.

Ian, the kit from RTE comes with a short extension for the steering shaft. If you loosened the shaft ends and pulled out the shafts from the coupler you cannot insert the bolt back in (is this confusing or what)..... I have a spare shaft laying around, I'll try and post pics tomorrow ...
