kelli: you have to open up the inside door panel to access the regulator. I discovered one way to make these lousy regulators last much longer - when you send the window up or down, don't let the window 'embed' itself in the rubber weatherstrip. Let go the switch just as the window reaches the weatherstrip at the top or descends to the door at the bottom. This stops the regulator from 'bottoming out. or 'topping out' hard against the stops.
These LR window mechanisms are crap and should have been offered only as an option (as were the sunroofs and power seats). You can retro fit manual (crank) front window mechanisms, but getting them out of England can be a bugger. In the end, you probably just learn to live with these electric ones. If you keep your truck but want to get rid of the LR regulators, there are domestic electric mechanisms available from the HotRod market.
