My advice. Let Mom buy the Xterra. If she is flipping the bill it is her call. Then save your money up and buy a beater RRC for the trails. Who cares what it looks like, how much rust it has, etc. Run the cheapest insurance you can find and beat it to death. If it breaks and sits a while who cares. You know you can source the parts to fix it cheap. Ive had a couple buddies by 800 dollar buckets of junk. These are PERFECT for the trails. Just my two cents. BTW I retired my 89 RRC a few years ago at around 300k. Now it is just a toy and gets beat up on a regular. Last rally I hit two trees, but loved every moment of it. It is amazing how much punishment these things can take. Gordo
