Has anyone out there heard or tried to put the 5cyd turbo diesel in a discovery, Defender, RRC.? I have a 83 300d, the more I look at her, the more the engine seduces me,
. I know people have put the 300tdi, 200tdi, 2.8 powerstroke, and sometimes the nissan diesel in. Give me your thoughts. I have a 96 Discovery 5-speed. With a little(lot) of hard work it can be done, I assume. The mercedes diesel is one Heck of a workhorse, easy maintanence too. I just don't know about the bellhousings.
