I tend to disagree with your statement, the one thing that takes out calipers and their pistons is acidic brake fluid, in other old burne brake fluid full of moisture, that eats away at the seals and surface areas.
Synthetic brake fluid doe not absorb moisture and is very hard to burn so you have less chance of this wear starting or progressing if you use a good synthetic.
