About the oil consumption, I put 3000 miles between oil changes on mine, and when I check the oil alond the way, it has never dropped, and no signs of consumption?
It has one of those dry leaks, or at least had one, at the rear of the block, around the main seal I think.
But the oil level on the dipstick, has not dropped to where I needed to add a quart?
On the other hand, on my mom's 86' Benz 420 SEL, it ended up comsuming in 3000 miles a bunch of oil, to the point where I needed to, at one time, add 2 quarts of oil.
Engine runs perfectly, despite a tiny exhaust leak on the Benz, the size of a pin hole, it runs fine.
