Yeah the Cherokee has been on sale since the early 90's and is fairly common place. Wranglers are bit more rare but there are some about, but very few modified ones.
Dealer backup is crap though, which is probably why Dodge/Chrysler have really been struggling in the UK.
My Dad has a 4.0 limited SE Cherokee auto, and I have to say it's nice. Kinda quirky inside. But it rides horrible and handles like a barge compared to a V8 Range Rover. Also not keen on the 4wd system as its not perminant 4wd.
I can see the potential and as a "street" biased car the rwd setup works well but stock for stock I'd say a Land Rover and many of the Japanese counter parts are way better in the dirt.
