RR Sport _ Tow Hitch Receiver

The Tow Hitch Receiver for the RR Sport is unique (Angled).
I have an 'add-on' product that slides into a tow hitch receiver and acts as a locking safe box for an extra key (for when you are at the beach, camping, etc).... but due to the angle of the tow hitch setup, the piece does not slide in all the way.

Does anyone have any recommendations, know of a fix for this problem?

Thanks!

Fellow Forum Members and Tireless Rover Owners,
I have been hard at work for the past few months, diving into the communications systems on the 2003-2005 MKIII Range Rover. Since I purchased my 2003 Range Rover, I have already had several major problems with the different systems. So I put hundreds of hours researching and investigating the different sommunications protocols in the 2003-2005 Range Rover.

I have had made a tremendous ammount of positive progress. I have been able to work through the MKIII Range Rover EAS system communications protocol. I have incorporated the MKIII Range Rover EAS communications protocol into a self contained hand-held device called the "EAS Activate MKIII". The EAS Activate MKIII will read and clear the stored EAS fault codes.

Any issues I should watch out for?

I have a 2003 Range Rover that has had intermittent ignition problems for a while now. It's gone to the dealer under warranty and supposedly it was fixed.

Problem is I place the key in the ignition and nothing happens. Everything lights up fine, but no ignition. The first couple of times it happened I had it towed and repairs (supposedly) made by the dealer.

Last time it happened I towed it to the dealer and they said they could not find the problem. They did find fuse 39 was blown, but could not locate the fault.

Anyone know why fuse 39 would blow regularly?

I've had usual problems in the past (chirping, dead batteries, issue with key remote entry). I've also recently replaced the alternator.

Thanks in advance!

02RR P38. EAS Fault this morning and the car dropped down to the 'entry' level. I followed the instructions in the mfg manual to no avail. It appears that I have a hard fault and so there are a few questions.

First, do I need to go to the dealer to reset the fault if I plan to repair it myself. Or will the software from RSWSolutions.com allow me to reset faults? I am wanting to look up the faults myself so that I can determine what needs to be replaced. At the time of the problem, I heard the compressor running even after the car was shut off. This leads me to believe there is a leak in the system somewhere. I thought about replacing the compressor and cylinders to see if the it corrects the problem.

Second, has any one elected to go with spring conversions? I am assuming that you lose the ride height funcations of the OEM suspension with this. Anyone do the installs themselves. Any pointers?

Has anyone replaced the air springs with air springs themselves? Is it as straightforward as the manufacturers say?

Any insight one has on this is greatly appreciated. This car has 80K on it and is not worth spending a truckload of cash on. I am mechanically inclined, but I want to hear from my mechanically inclined friends about these repairs!

I want to come back to the Land Rover family. I have had several Land Rovers in the past and think although they are mechanic friendly they are also durable fun to drive luxury vehicles. I am looking to buy an 03 of 04 Range and would like to know if they are more or less reliable as their older versions. Prices are starting to come down but with the lower selling prices you usually get higher mileage examples ranging from 70 - 100 thousand miles. Have to get rid of the Mercedes first though! Thanks in advance!

HVAC problem P38 !!!!

I have a very strange thing happening to the HVAC system.
When I disconnect the battery and leave key in the on position
when I reconnect batterry the HVAC system will blow air with no
fault showing on the dysplay for a couple mins. But as soon as
turn the engine off and turn it back on again, the system stops working!!!
I Checked the fuses and the dreaded RL7 which upon close inspection
showed signs of extreme discoloration the fuse box contact also
showed cracks and stress from the heat. So after some research on the boards
I decided to replace the RL7 first with no luck. Then I purchased a used
fuse box that showed no signs of heat damage on the board and
after swaping it tonight I still get the same behavior as I described above!!!!
Any sugestions on what to do next?
Did anyone have a similar problem and can share a solution.
Thanks for your help.

I'm just needing it as a spare tire. Tried getting a generic wheel from an auto parts store but the guy behind the parts counter said I had to match the lug pattern, even though I told him what size wheel was stock, using the tire information: 255/65/16 five lug pattern.

Any ideas where or how I might be able to get a generic wheel?

I have looked at all the forums and still cannot get a straight answer. Will a 265/60/18 All Terrain tire fit a stock p38 without issue. Some say absolutely not and some say it will fit no problem.

If someone has this setup are their any rubbing issues off road or in access mode?

Thanks

Hey guys,

Can anyone tell me how best to go about cleaning my license plate light lenses? They are filthy!

Is there anyway I can pop them out of the housing without damaging them?

(They appear to be glued in there but 13 years of caked on grime could be clouding my vision... lol)
