Hello all,
Thought I'd chuck in a word or two, rather than just lurking......though I'll do that most!
Scottish, living in Bergen, on the west coast of Norway. It rains a lot. It's cold and dark in the winter. Sometimes it's cold and dark in the summer, too. But......I volunteered, so it serves me right!:D

Hello Everyone!

Yes it has been a while and I am amazed I remebered my password as I was last here in 2006 when I was blating around the Middle East in a 1998 Discovery Series 1.

I'd like to thank all the regulars that provided me with some great advice back then!

Well, now I'm in Moscow and god help me, I have gone and bought another Rover! Its a 1999 Range Rover HSE.

Why I buy these cars in places where I can not even speak to the mechanic in his own language is beyond me! Maybe I am just asking for trouble!

But they are such great cars for this sort of driving and for getting out and exploring.

I'm sure I will be around at some point with some kind of technical issue! But for now just wanted to say hi again.

Hi All,

I am Jasvinder, based in Delhi, India. I am an amateur vehicle restorer. I run a small workshop in India and we restore WWII and Classic era Jeeps and Jeep derivatives that were produced in India by a Local Automotive company called Mahindra and Mahindra.

I have always been fascinated by the ruggedness and ability of Land Rover vehicles. Luckily for me one of my friend and client has recently picked up a 1950's Series I and 1972 Series III (LR 109, Diesel). I have been entrusted the responsibility of restoring the vehicle to its old glory.

Since my knowledge about these wonderful machine is very limited I thought it would be best to take help from veterans across the world. So this is how I have found about the forum after searching on the net. I hope to start up a thread and post some pictures of the Land Rover(With due permission from the owner) and start asking for help on advises as the work proceed.

regards

Engine miss when it warms up

IT runs great when cold but starts missing when it gets to normal operating temp. Does not over heat, Does not use oil or Coolent. I have changed the spark plugs, Coil pack, Cleaned the Airmass, Had the injector lines cleaned. If I remove the air cleaner top cover I can hear it miss into the intake. It acts like it is real lean. My next guess is the Oxygen sensors. Any thoughts?

Hello from Phoenix Arizona. After owning over 13 Jeeps, an Xterra and a Pathfinder, I have finally purchased my first Land Rover.. an '89 Range Rover that needs tons of work from a local auction for the large sum of $325!!! But I am up to the challenge. I have always loved the way they look, and have been jealous of their four wheel capability. So I am sure I will have tons of questions going forward. Here are a couple of photos...

P1673

I have a 2001 Land Rover Discovery II SE that I bought wrecked, which I can't get to start. It came with one key/fob combo, which does work to lock and unlock the doors, but it won't start. I hooked a scanner up to it a while a go and it threw a code (P1673) which says :Anti-Theft Alarm serial link fault Drive cycle A:Signal out of range - above maximum. My interpretation of this is that they key is not programmed correctly. I rented a U-Haul trailer and hauled it out to the only dealership that I am aware of here in Utah, after I called them the morning before it went out to tell them that I thought that the problem was the key, which they told me over the phone was very likely. When I got there the first thing that they told me was that it is no possible way the key, because it is not programmed. So they ran a diagnosis on the thing and said, in their writing: 0 Diag. No Fuel Pressure good fuse & relay-estimated fuel pump.

Fast forward 2 weeks. Today I hooked the scanner up to it and it threw 3 codes. P1668, P1673, & P1230. Cleared it, tried to start it and it only threw P1673 again. So does anybody out there know what that code actually means? It's not getting spark, checked that, and the fuel pump is not kicking on, which I know is good because I was able to override it and hear it kick on. To me it sounds like it is not recognizing authorization from the key. If you have any input, please let me know.

P.S. This is my first LR, and just trying to get it to run I understand the love/hate relationship with them already!:complain::help

Howdy all from the great state of North Carolina (western mountians). I have waited my entire life for a Land Rover. My dream came true last month when I found a great ’96 Disco I with 183K on her. She’s green now, but next week will be painted the original Camel “Sandglow” in preparation for her transformation. Sandglow was hard to find (and expensive), the stickers and decals are all ready…can’t wait to post pics as she’s being born. Great forum…I’ve already learned TONS.

Hello,
I am based in New Delhi. I drive my second Landrover Defender 300tdi and normally have parts to spare incase you are this far. Offroading is what I do when need to renergise.
India has great outdoors and some of most difficult and varied terrains. Lovely forest reserves..ever tried Corbett for starters! You can drive hundreds of miles from Manali to Leh at average level/height of +14000 feet, where the scenery changes every 30miles !! Cheers!
