Engine model is of significant help here, 3.9 V8 I'm guessing. I would check that the ECU used/is covered by the OBDII code system. This has now become fairly universal but mainly was a North American system and you have a car that was imported into the USA in fingers and toes numbers. Or has it worked in the past and now has stopped working?
