so I just chat with my friend across the sea...I just found out he's also a Defender freak and he told me his is 2005 D90. could someone elaborate the 2005 version? I mean I only know that the last Defender was 97 excluding the special edition that came out 2000ish...black color and he bouhgt it out straight from the dealer. just want to know if it's only come out in certain region or not...Thanks

Defenders have been around since 1983 (I believe)... They are still being made today.. they were only imported into the US in 1993(d110), 1994(d90), 1995(d90) & 1997(d90 auto tranny) ... check out http://www.landrover.co.uk/ to see pics of the newer defenders.

Man I wish they would make those here. I would have a couple of them. I've been eyeing them on ebay but I don't trust half of those people. What price could you get one in good shape for here? Lets say a 97?

You're not buying a luxury car.. you're buying an awesome offroader (Which should cost about $10-15k), and then you're paying for the fact that it's rare and the hamptons/marthas vineyard yuppies love them ($10-40k on top of its value).
I'd still buy one though ![]()

A 2005 Defender also comes with a TD5 engine too not a 300TDI (or a V8 either IIRC). My mum has a TD5 Defender 110 crewcab and I tells yer it may be a big ol thing but hot damn does the TD5 engine make it fly and thats a stock engine too! ![]()
