Default 300 TDi "screaming"

Hello there folks,

My 300 Tdi has suddenly started screaming like a banshee in 4th at around 50 mph, then goes away when changed into 5th. It does come back in 5th if a long hill is encountered.
Any ideas?

Ok, after pulling all the intake pipes/hose and air cleaner pipes/hoses, I found a small (1/16") size hole in the small (lower) intercooler hose from the turbo to the intercooler. Part is now replaced, noise has now gone and all the power has returned, aaahhhh !
