Default 300TDI co2

Hi all, thinking of buying a defender/90 with 300tdi engine, can anyone advise me on the co2 output of this engine?
and will it fall in to the £400 a year road tax bracket
Many thanks Bob.

There won't be any official CO2 measurements for the 300Tdi, as this wasn't part of Type Approval when the vehicle was built. This also means that the vehicle WON'T be subject to the new £400 tax bracket, because that is only for cars in 'Band G' on the basis of CO2 output- pre-2001 vehicles were never measured for CO2, therefore can't be taxed on it- they just pay the standard £175 Road Fund License fee.

A pretty good reason never to buy a modern Land Rover.

Default co2.

Cheers lads for the replys, so does that mean that my 1995 3.9 disco won't come in to the £400 bracket, and I won't have to sell it for a song even though its on LPG
Bob.

Amazing how bad reporting and media hype can lead to this kind of worry. One of the garages I do diagnostic work is putting extra info on the windscreens of their sales cars saying how much the road tax will be.
I thought the BBC was supposed to be impartial, lately you have to wonder.................
