Red face 95 Defender130 300Tdi liftkit

Hi there, I have a 95 130 crew cab and am looking for bilstein shocks model number to give my truck a 2 inch lift, as not many people have done lifts for my truck here in Australia i thought the Brits would know a thing or 2 about this type of conversion.
I would prefer the bilsteins and can get them here but need to know the model to do the job or if any one else has info i would love to hear.
Cheers Phil

Hi and welcom to the forum. I'm afraid you might not find your answer here as this forum is mainly American. I'm sorry I dont have an answer for you but I'm suprised, being Australian, you dont want Old man Emu shocks?

Just now I'm using Rough Country shocks (I think they are american) and they have been ok so far. I dont know what I will go to next when the time comes to get new ones..

there aren't many of the 130's on this side of the pond. I honestly would just do a plus two of the stock bilstein shock.

I'm also curious if it would run the same front shock as a 90/110. The rear might also be the same as a 110 but all of this is guess work for me.

thanks guys, i'll talk to the brits pity you dont get many 130's they are a good truck.
spose its the airbag thing they are concerned about. Mind you the amount of army personnel using vehicles without air bags must be staggering without misshaps.
Besides who has airbags in an offroad truck anyway!

The Land Rover addict forum has a more worldwide audience. There's also a UK Rover owners mailing list; UK-LRO Info Page

As for shocks, I'm not sure exactly what you meant, but shocks aren't used to get a lift. Yes, you would probably need longer ones with a lift, but taller springs is what gives you your 2" suspension lift. Shocks should maintain their same job, just as dampers.
