Default air con removal

got a td5 110 want to take out the air con unit from inside the cabin.Having cold knees isn,t worth the foot space it takes up.How do you disconnect it from the engine in a way that it can be put back in if needed. The facia part inside comes away pretty easy its just the two pipes connecting into the engine bay that looks technical.

Those 2 pipes you talk about are charged with gas for the evaporator core. You will need to have the gas evacuated by an air con professional then it is just a matter of unbolting everything.
Yes I agree with you. The air con in Defenders is neither use nor ornament! 4 vents across the front to cool a big cabin like that on a Defender.....Like you say it keeps your knees cold!

No worries. you can just undo them and let the gas escape but it environmentally unfriendly.... ozone layer and all that!
