Here is my 110 ,it is presently being sorted out a bit as it is a ex MOD and i am making it a little more comfortable . My problem was i ran out of time getting the body done before the cold weather so i did a quick paint job on it . it turned out to be fairly decent but i will have to do some work on the body in the spring, but for now i will concentrate on the interior. The pictures below show the progress so far.
Cheers

Well, It certainly looks presentable now. I can't really tell what color it is, but it has a good shine to it. (of coarse, I think they look great in OD also)
What year was yours built? You guys up N of the border don't know how lucky you are with only a 15 year rule, but I also heard that if it was an exMOD, stationed there and demilled, it didn't even need to be 15 years old. It was treated the same as if it were sold new there. |

It is the N/A 2.5 has about 30.000kms on the Truck . Plans so far is just to get the exterior /interior sorted out i have most of the trim/ dash inside right now cleaning /paonting it and recovering with vinyl. When this is done i plan on insulating the rear cab and lining it with rubberized garage flooring add lights and windows to the rear. I will have to make some Sill protectors and a new front Bumper to house a 12000lb Winch , And because it is a EXMOD they have heavy duty springs i should be ok to run 255x85x16" (about 33" ) it has the 238 x85 s right now. Oh yes and ebay UK is my new best friend.
Cheers and Happy Christmas.

The weather has not been to cooperative lately so things have come to a bit of a standstill on getting the interior sorted out. still not sure what i want to do about the suspension yet but i think for this coming year at least i will stock. Still have a fair amount of exterior work to do i need to make a new front bumper and some sill protectors , I will be adding one of my 12k winches to the front and i am toying with the idea of possibly adding a 10k to the rear, Not too sure on that last part yet.
Cheers.

I had a 12K Ramsey on the rear of my NAS110, but because of the NAS rear bumber, I never did do the cut & chop task of doing a permanant install, and just had it on a receiver mount. (Not to mention that the fuel tank is right there too) Your rear install should be alot easier, and I have seen some where the winch is recessed into the rearmost portion of floor, fairlead was even with rear crossmember, and was perfect.
Given the 2 locations, I think, and have found by experience, that the rear is much more sensible, especially when you consider that the best route out a situation is the reverse of the direction that got you there in the first place. Nobody thinks twice about mounting one up front, and I too have one on an ARB, but it's better suited for recovering the guy in front of you, than dragging yourself further into the muck. |

Recessing it in the Floor was the idea that i was having . i have recently changed the solenoids in my Winches . I no longer use the traditional style and it makes it a lot easie for remote mounting them virtually anywhere. the 10k is a nice compact design that suits this type of aplication perfectly http:// ![]() Here is the type i now use in my Winches http:// ![]() I will add a remote to the winch just for ease of use in some situations.

There have been several pictures in the UK rags showing rear winches sunk below floor level. Essentially they build a box using sheet alumin(i)um, and anglestock, and mount the fairlead flush to the rear crossmember. Synthetic line and a hawser fairlead would be even cleaner yet.
Is that switch a solid state device? I had thought of using some high current SCRs to do the same thing, but the ones I had needed a higher voltage to the gate than 12 volts, and those suckers are too expensive to go out and buy new ones. These were the hockey puck kind and the mounts were supposed to be water cooled, and took up more space than plain old mecnical solinoids, so I never bothered. Do you use a similar planetary reduction to the Warn? |

The gears are somewhat similar to the Warn , I have different ratios for my winches but the basics are very similar
Here are the Warn M8000 gears. http:// and this is the Gear set for the TITAN 10,000lb http:// Warn uses a Bronze bushing for the Sun Gear i use a Bearing My ring gear is a lot heavier than Warn ( this can be both good and bad as yes it has a lot of strength but it does make i a little harder to freespool ) The solenoids are similar to the Albrights except the contacts are Silver cadium oxide coated to eliminate any arcing when operated. What size did you want I stock 12v but i can also get 24v if that is any use to you. Cheers.

I am not in the market for a new wich at this point, but were I, it won't be another Warn. I actually like my Ramsey RE12000 better because of the worm drive, but it's a very heavy winch. I have the Ramsey on my 109, and an XD9000 on my 110.
I like the construction of the Titan first and second stage reduction units much more than the flimsy 1st & 2nd stage Warn reductions, and I also like the way the Titan planet gears are pinned better. Do you sell synthetic line and machined fairleads? PM me so we don't get too commercial. |
