Default Defender 90 V8 3.5 delivers only poor 114 HP?

I just discovered that V8 3.5 engine on Defender 90 delivers poor 114 HP. Is it a mistake, or is it real?

If it is true, anybody knows a way to raise that HP with the same twin carburettors?.

Thanks.

Well thanks Prodigy999, i'm not planning that type of modification. My curiosity refers to an article I just read about Defender 3.5 V8 engine, which probably was detuned using a restrictor somewhere inside, due to need of reducing torque to avoid gearbox main spline to get broken.

Any way that engine should deliver at lest 145 hp !!!

Remove the original intake manifold and carbs, and install an Edelbrock manifold and 450-500cfm 4 barrel carb.
They didn't need to install a restrictor. The inside of a Land Rover manifold casting is so rough it works just like one.
