Default Defender Rust!!!

I just bought a 95' D90 with 40K miles on it. Its in great condition, very little rust but after really going over it with a fine tooth comb I have found a few spots of rust (below the floor mat, at the bottom of the door towards the rear). Most of the spots are about the size of a quarter and are 'surface' spots (as much as it can be I guess).

Anyone have a good way to abate these rust spots so they don't turn into huge holes down the road?

Thanks!

Defenders have loads of rust issues, no less than older series trucks.
Doors rot out from the inside, but the newer door tops are better than old series door tops (on soft top trucks)
Door sills (part of the B piller on 110s) rust pretty quickly, and Body cappings, no longer galvanized, go to shit quick. I've been trying to get someone to follow me up to Springfield, as I have every intention of getting my 110 Waxoyled. Expensive, but proven to be worth it in the long run. There may be somone in Boston doing it too, ask Stu Carpenter at Copley Motorcars.

Terry,
I'd be willing to take you up there. We'll have to take in "Running With Scissors" before we go so that we can discuss the movie with John.

Alan Elliot at Cityside Garage may do waxoyl (Holliston, MA). Or you might give Matt a call at Overland Engineering in Eliot, Maine. Not sure if either do the treatment these days but they are good local references.

This is why I have a spare set of front and rear doors in my basement. My rear door is already bubbling.
