Default engine cuts out on 110....HELP HELP HElp

i need help...as all i want to do is throw the car away......

i have been suffering an engine cut out problem on my 300tdi 110 (1996) for 6 months now and several LR mechanics plus loads of cash have not been able to help me identify the problem.

Problem is...the engine cuts out and will not start again for at least 10 minutes or so. It appears that the engine is not getting fuel. it always seems to cut out when the engine is warm, and (maybe) when the fuel tank is approx third full (still collecting data on this one)

so far i have changed the following.

fuel lift pump
immobiliser
fuel filter
solenoid
solenoid (terminal connector)
checked fuel lines and no sign of wear or air ingress

what would be the next step ? and, will the engine digagnostic box help identify the problem ?

could it be dirt in the fuel tank, and if so, how does one clean it out ?

would any other electrical systems cause the fuel switch to cut out ?

a bottle of fine italian wine from my local vineyard in italy for the magic answer........

there does not seem to be any vacuum forming in the tank, no suction noise etc.

If you choose to throw it away.
I'll come and get it.
No need to fill your landfill up with that. I'll bring it to Oklahoma and throw it away here.
I feel it's my duty as a recycler.

I think its the Land Rover Spider - I had some problems where the vehicle (300Tdi 1996 130) would not start (not even turn over) on some occasions after a short run, however 10 minuites later would be fine, it did on one occasion stop running when driving home one day, just lost power a few times then stopped, would not start (as if wasn't getting any fuel but would turn over).
5 mins later it was fine, the next day a quick search - The Definitive Alarm Spider Post

In the defender its in a different place, in the battery box within a 3-4" square black box, with just one multicore cable entering - unbolt, drill or cut off anti tamper fastenings - remove spider, resolder worst of the joints

The next important step is go to the post office with the bottle of wine...

I'm almost certain this was my problem as in the last few months since sorting the dry joints it has not caused any problems...

Or you could junk the smart spider and replace it with AMR4956 link lead and be done with.

no idea what a spider is or what it looks like or even if i have one...what will removing it involve ? yesterday when i broke down, (just a part of daily landrover life) on a mountain hairpin in the dark in the alps)...i checked if there was current getting to the fuel pump solenoid (replaced two weeks ago) and there was current there,,,,is there any other 'spider' like controls which affect the fuel system...?

insert a clear piece of hose in the fuel line if you see bubbles then you have air start in the tank to pump pipe then the pump to filter housing then filter to inj pump,

i once had a similar fault on a 2.25 diesel many years ago I couldnt find the source I removed the engine and replaced it with a petrol lump I replaced all fuel pipes except the one that screws into the fuel pump it was the damn olive on the pipe that wasnt sealing properly I spent hundreds on a fault that in th end would have cost pennies if i had found it sooner
