Hi there,
I'm an aussie with a 2000 Td5 defender 110. After 55,000 kms, the rear axles were replaced due to wear. Luckliy warranty covered it. Now at 110,000kms, the rear axles are worn again and need replacing. my extended warranty won't cover it. Does anyone out there have wear on their axles like this? It seems mighty excessive to me!! previously I had a Tdi and never experienced such problems. thanks for any input peter |

rear axle wear is a common fault with these models. Suggestion, contact a company called maxidrive, they reside on the Gold Coast. They produce replacement axles and drive flanges that are far better quality than the landrover parts, they will last forever and cost less than the original parts. Sorry I do not know the phone number, if you cannot find it call British Off Road, at Forrest Glen and ask to speak to Paxton, he will help you. Enjoy.
