Default Help! Diff Lock will not Unlock

The diff lock is stuck locked. Jacked the truck up and put it on jack stands put it into neutal. When I turn the rear prop shaft the front one turn at the same time in the same direction. the shifter shifts fine the linkage is alright the light goes off when you shift it to unlock, just does not unlock. Any suggestion on how to unlock it short of taking it out?

Do you know where the linkage mounts to the shift nipple on top of the differental housing, just above the front drive shaft flange? Might want to check and see if the linkage is bent, if not take a 10 mm wrenc unhook the linkage and manually turn the shift nipple full counter clockwise.

Your Defender is always in 4X4 the only thing that happens when you shift to the left is that you lock the differetial inside of your transfercase

Have you tried slowly driving it in a tight circle to see if the steering wheel lurches, is the t/case actually shifted into high lock, can you shift the t/case to all 4 positions?
