Jerky clutch engagement, when starting off in 1st, is usually an indication of a scored, burned, or distorted flywheel face. This can come from excessive slippage, causing overheating, or, oil from a leaky real seal .
It's easy enough to have the flywheel refurfaced (machine a few thous off) when changing the clutch plate, but make sure you renew the rear seal at that time, if it seems oil related. |
