Default Lack of engine Power - 2005 110

Am having a problem with a lack of engine power. It seems as if the turbo is not working outside of 1st gear. A mechanic looked at it several weeks ago and told me that the turbo was "binding." I can hear it "spin up" at times but get no boost. I know it is not an injector problem. Have change the air filters and fuel filters. Does anyone have an idea as to what the problem is? I am starting to think it is a sensor problem and contemplating buying a code reader.

additional information - this afternoon I switched out the ambient air pressure and temperature sensor. this does not appear to have any impact on the problem.

more information - this morning I switched out the MAF sensor and there was no improvement. I unplugged the MAF sensor and there was a noticeable improvement but it still seemed to lack power going uphill.

Any thoughts would be greatly welcomed.

Well, this is a couple of months late, but I haven't been on here in a while. I had a similar problem with my '00 TD5 D90 and it had EGR system problems, I think the EGR valve was staying open all of the time if I remember correctly. At any rate, I replaced the vacuum accuator to the EGR valve and it fixed my issues.

Cheers,
Ben
