Have you ever heard what sounds like a handful of gravel being thrown up under the truck while driving? It happens at no particular time, clutch in or out. I suspect the clutch but am not sure. I drive a 1991 110 with a 200 tdi and an lt77.Everthing runs smooth and quiet otherwise.
Thanks Mike |

If the noise is present with the clutch depressed, it isn't likely to be in the gearbox. It could be the throwout bearing (They're mostly plastic)
Do you have a catalytic converter ? The noise you're describing sound exactly like the noise coming from my RH cat. Matrix is broken. |

It doesn't seem to matter if the clutch is pressed or not but it has happened more often coming to a stop with the clutch in. I don't have a cat and it happens fast and doesn't last long enough to rev the engine or press the clutch even. I took the truck out yesterday and it never did it at all, so weird !
