Old style defender locks into a SIII door?

Hi guys. I'm just about to replace my totally rotten and falling off doors for series 3 doors but for one reason and another I cant get any antiburst locks untill later in the summer.

The doors I have just now are the early 1 piece lift up handle doors with the inside handle in the same place as modern cars (top front) rather than on the lock down at your hip.

Does anyone know if I am going to be able to (I know there will be some bodging and messing about) make them fit onto the old Series door?

I understand that there will be nowhere to mount the inside handle on the end of its push rod so I will just make do with having a bit of metal sticking out for me to open the door with untill I get proper locks for them.

Here is a pic of my current lock just to jog your memories and the series 3 door with the old style lock that is comming off (for obvious reasons).

Please no one tell me "why don you just buy normal antiburst locks, they are only cheap" and things like that. I know the normal road to follow for this but right now its impossible and I need to fit the old locks from my 1 piece doors for now.
