Default Is This possible?

Hi :0)

Can anyone tell me, if I buy a RHD Defender, (1988) Will it be difficult to convert it over to a LHD? or is it not possible to do anyway? and if it is possible, would it be expensive?

Thanks for any replies recieved :0)

Alldefenders can be modified, its just a case of getting a list of part numbers and off you go, however there is quiet a bit of work in it

What country are you in? If you're in the US, and the Defender isn't, put the brakes on right now.
Otherwise,
You will need to get a LHD steering gearbox, and change the track rods.
Then there are different dash bits, but the binicle will swap over. You'll need to get a LHD heater duct (Lower dash) and heater/blower, and inlet duct, change the fresh air inlet to the Right fender.
The pedal boxes will shift over. The bukhead is ready, just need to cut out the correct ares, but the reinforcing mounts are already there. Best way to go about it strip out the entire dash, and remove the front fenders as you'll need to be doing a fair bit on the bulkhead up forward. E Brake shifts over easily also.
