seat belts - Land Rovers Only

I've got a 1988 90 with bench seats at the back. Is it possible to have seat belts put in or is there any other alternatives, ie is it possible to put single seats in and then have seat belts put in.
I would love some advice on this and where to get it done.

There are a number of options. You could put in the bar that lap belts attach to in ones of that age with the factory-fitted seat belts for the bench seat. You could bolt in individual lap belts. You could put in the forward-facing sideways-folding rear seats that are available from some of the mail order suppliers.

I've put in a bench seat from a militarry Landrover then bolted in 2 lapbelts. You need to drill your own holes and get a new nut'n'bolt for them as the belts come with a bolt that fits to a welded in nut that is already there on newer landrovers. Dont forget to put in a big washer or spreader of some kind so the bolt doesnt pull through the aluminium in the event of a accident.

many thanks for your feedback, i shall check this out. As you can appreciate the last thing I want is a 3year old action man jumping up and down whilst i'm on the road.
Any other info or advice that can be given, I'm new to 90's, then it is most appreciated.

You're welcom.. thats what we come on here for..., to help and be helped..

I'm right into my DIY mods. I dont like paying people to do things so I do it myself..

I succefully fitted an LPG kit, waterproofed my engine, added a duel battery and stripped and refurbished most of my 90 my self and with not alot of prior Mechanical knowledge.. ITs all down to trial and error and with a car like vehicle like a LR 90, lots of error doesnt have to bad an effect on it...

Anything else just ask mate

Felix might also benefit from some foam padding on the sharper edges if he is doing the Action Man stuff in the back while you are moving. And once the seatbelts are in remember to securely fix anything else that might fly around in the back when you hit a bump. Put the high-lift jack safely between the front seats and the bulkhead and don't have the spare wheel, spades etc loose on the floor. All these can (and do) kill.

Actually I'm now a bit fed up.
After only a couple of days the gears are really playing up. I can't even get into fith?
Will check the gear oil on Thursday but any other advice again would be great.
