Default 08 LR2 Fuel Variation

Hello to all,

I'm new to this and am looking to get an LR2. I'm wondering if anyone can give me some information on the type of fuel they are using in the new LR2's. I know they say to use premium fuel but I was working with the sales guy and he said it isn't required but to use it if I hear any "knocking" in the engine. Typical answer that I can understand, but would like to know if it is possible to run the vehicle on regular grade fuel on a daily basis and not have any problems. If anyone can shed some light on this for me, I would appreciate it! Thanks

Most modern cars (to include LR2) can easily run on both 87 and premium fuel. However, if you run your LR2 on regular, you might not notice any detrimental effects, but your performance and mileage will suffer and it will negate any fuel cost savings. You won't damage anything, but why skimp on a $35-40,000 vehicle?

My philosophy has been to run each vehicle on the reccommended grade of gas as specified by the manufacturer. If you have to fill it w/ regular or premium once in a while b/c that's all that's available, no biggy.
