Hi, I have a 2001 2.5V6 Freelander which rattles really badly from the inlet manifold. The dealer diagnosed the inlet manifold butterflies / vis system as being the fault and say I need a new manifold (almost £450 plus labour!!!!). I have also heard the root cause is due to ECU software and if that is not changed as well the manifold will fail again. I am obviously not very happy - has anyone got any ideas or knowledge how I can get this resolved - maybe an independant specialist that can repair the manifold (in the UK please)???? HELP!!!! |

hi there,
there is a know problem with this and the ecu recoding is a recall but it does cause the inlet manifold to wear so we were changing these as well you need to shout at your dealer and tell them to check on the website for the tech bull on it then put in a par(prior atherisation? request) up to four years old i think you will get some money for it |
