Default Advice on which mods

I have a 2002 Black Freelander SE and about $1200 to spend. I've looked at a bunch of accessories and wanted to know what you think I should get.

The possibilities are:

-DAP HD A-Frame: $700 after shipping
-Reese tow hitch: $130
-Crossbars: $150
-SliderZ: $500
-Light Guards front/rear: $120/$120

If you guys want to add anything to the list or if any of you know where to get these parts for cheaper please let me know. Thanks!

Do you offroad it often? From what I've seen of Freelanders wheeling, the first three mods should be:

1. Lift
2. More aggressive tires
3. Sliderz

I offroad some, but I don't know if I want the lift. How much side slope and on-road driving performance will be lost? I'm also waiting for my Michellin hydroedge tires to wear out so that I can get some Pirelli Scorpions 235/65/17.

I dont think you'll have any adverse effect on drivablity with a lift.. you may want to check out the forums at http://www.muddyoval.com/ .. there are a lot more freelander owners there.

I would get some 16" rims and 225/70/16 BFG AT/KOs. They are by far the best mod I've done. After that, maybe the Mantec skid plate or Sliderz, depending on what you are going for.

I've heard that the lift voids your warranty though. Is that true?

hey go all out and get some Ranger rims and then get the BFG's - can't beat em

Rmuller has seen mine in action - with my homemade sliders.....

I would say first and foremost get the Mantec skid plate or make a skid plate (RonC) - the Mantec is worth it's weight in gold !!!! trust me...

that being said the next is more ground clearance -
