Default Advice for a new owner?

In December I bought an 02 Freelander SE. Long story as to why. Let's just say I was desperate for something to drive in the snow. Up until that day I have never heard of the Freelander. Being a fan of Google, I clearly know the reputation.

Here are the facts:
I bought it with 81,000 miles; it now has 83,500 miles. Obviously it is my second car and drives in small doses at a time--if I keep it, it will be about 50 - 75 miles a week. No off-roading.

It APPEARS the timing belt was not done at 72k and I hear that is a must. But at $2,000--I have delayed it. I have endeavored to drive it to a minimum until that situation is worked out.

The engine sounds fine. I detect nothing out of the ordinary. The temp gage has ALWAYS stayed in the middle. However, I NEVER (or rarely) drive it on roads that go above 50 mph.

There are no leaks or warning lights. Transmission feels smooth.

The only thing gone wrong so far is the rear door actuator has gone out.

I am going to have the Fuel Pump replaced soon with the recall that I was just given notice too. I assume this is a good thing as this was a weak spot from what I have read.

I keep reading about this engine cooling kit--a must?

I have tried to sell it on Craigslist and am asking $7,800. I have had one person a week email me in 2 months--with no takers. I live in Spokane, WA.

Based on the above--any advice?

Sell that car as soon as you can! Then move to a different state, change your phone number, and change your name. The new owner is going to be pissed.

I have had five test drivers -- interestingly, they all fall of the face of the earth--even the ones that were seriously thinking of purchasing...

Ugh. What is incredibly annoying, aesthetically and performance wise, this car is perfect. Yet I know I must sell.
