Default alternative power plants

I am ready to exchange my 1.8 freelander for a push bike !!! would get further on a push bike thats for certain. Yes you guessed it head gasket failed and took the head with it. No.4 piston holed so has had to be replaced along with the liner. I love driving it and would love to have some more reliability. Is there any other engine plant that fits ?????

Freelanders have a V6 option that might be your best bet.

but to insert a V6 will mean brakes and other stuff being uprated ?? I run LPG on the freelander and would want to keep that. When compared to diesel prices It gives me the equivalent of 60mpg. I will do all the work myself so not worried about the task. just the expense
