Default Catalytic Converter replacement?

The catalytic converter on my 2002 Freelander S looks like it's losing it's outer shell. About 2-3 inches have come unwrapped and hang down a bit. Do I need to replace the CC right away? I found one here:
PartsTrain.com - Hard to Find Auto Parts and Truck Parts - Catalytic Converters
but the description for the driver side converter doesn't quite fit mine. Mine has 2 small inlet pipes and one larger outlet. Outside has DAM016 and 04-02 written on it.
