Default Coolant / Oil Change

Can almost any Oil Change service (business) work on the 02 Freelander? Obviously I don't want to go to the dealer.

Can you go to a parts store and buy coolant if you need to top it off?

EDIT: I researched this a bit and found you can get the coolant at a NAPA store, for one example. I got the list of approved oil in the owner's manual. Doesn't look too difficult to have someone change. Pretty standard types. Assuming correct?

Well, I went to an oil service place and they did it. So that answered my question.

The next question was it was still $90! not much cheaper than the dealer.

IS it recommended to change your own oil?

Hi,
it is quite cheaper to change your own oil, however if there is ever a problem releating to the oil you can always go back to the oil change place....now, having said that, it may be an uphill battle to get anything out of them, but at least you can try, otherwise if it's your mistake, it your problem! Since we have a vehicle that not "on the rack" most places will let you bring your own filter...so you do end up saving a little.
