Freelader Clutch - Land Rovers Only

Hi, I am new to this forum so please excuse if I am asking about something that has bee covered a lot. I am looking for advice a renewing the clutch on my Freelander.
I havent done anything like this for about 20 years so I am concerned about doing the job. Can anyone give me an idea of pitfalls and any other advice. How long should it take me?
What do I need to remove to get access?
Is there anywhere I can get written info or should I get a Haynes manual. Clive

It's always a good idea to have the manual if you intend to save some money and do repairs yourself. In the mean time, Scoobymike, one of the members on this forum is a UK Land Rover technician with experience with Freelanders. Freelanders can be a pain to work on, and when pulling things apart you will be constantly asking yourself - 'why did they do that?'.

Definitely get a Haynes Manual and also buy the genuine thing on CD (Called a RAVE CD) - they are on E-bay but make sure you are buying the right version.

The job is not technically difficult but there a lot of things to be dismantled and a lot of nuts and bolts in awkward posiitons. It is labourious, time consuming and frustrating. Correct, good quality tools are a must.

If in doubt - get a reputable freelander (not all landrover people know freelanders) specialist to do the job - they will know all the shortcuts, have the tools and equipment.
