Default Freelander 1.8 engine replacemet - SERIOUS PROBLEMS !

Hi everybody,

I own a Land Rover Freelander 1.8 Petrol of 2001.
My Freelander's engine was broken at 93.000 KM and I have done a engine replacement (about a week before) with an used engine (approx. 40.000KM).

Now I am facing very serious problems:
1. The revs can not go behind 4500 rpm
2. The max speed I can reach is 100 km/h
3. The fuel consumption is very high (double)

I have also replaced the fuel pump with a new one.

Any idea what's wrong?
Do you think ECU needs to be reprogrammed?

I seriously need help here

I checked again my car and this time an error was shown "P0340 Camshaft Sensor Error". I tried two different new camshaft sensors but the problem is still the same. The sensor was not the problem, so after reading the RAVE disc, I seriously think is the timing belt - the engine looks out of phase. I am waiting for the garage guys to finish the holidays, so they can check.
Do you think the same? Is that possible that the wrong timing of the engine can lead to "Camshaft sensor error" ?

Please tell me you have sorted this out! I replaced head gasket valves etc after a cam belt slip. Engine was fine before, but now won't rev past 4500. no power.
