Default Freelander 2008 (LR2)

Hi! I'm new to the community so hi all.

I've been an owner of a slightly used (owned by the dealership owner for about a few months) freelander 2. I purchased it with about 3k miles. I've put on about 9k (total milage 14k)this year due to some heavy traveling between cities.

I recently have been having problems with some oil leaks and steering fluid pump things.

They have recently started to talk about replacing the engine because I've been back so many times now.

I was wondering what does this imply and mean. How long does this typically take, etc. Should I ask anything in particular before they go ahead with this ? It does sound rather drastic - but I'm still under warranty ... I am getting to the state's limit of declaring the car a lemon...

Thanks all!

I hear your pain. My truck has been in the shop for over 12 weeks now for electrical problems. And Rover is still being a pain in the ass. They tell me it will be fixxed by July 14. As for a lemmon law. You might want to talk to a lawyer or just get on the internet and look it up by state. For Hawaii the law sates 2 years or 24K or 2 saftey isues or 3 times for minor things or more than 30 days in the shop. Rover said they will give me 1,500 for my time and hassel. What ever you do it will be an up hill battel for you. Good luck
