garrycol Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Canberra Australia Posts: 110 Gallery: 0	Freelander IRDs and Viscous Couplings Hi all, I have had a recent failure of my viscous coupling on my 98 L series Diesel. This in turn caused axle and transmission windup causing the the Intermediate Reduction Drive (IRD) unit to fail. Both are very, very, very, very expensive and I have been told that neither are rebuildable. Does anyone know if they can be rebuilt or have any alternatives, suggestions. Gazzzzz
