Question Freelander vs Disco

I currently have a 2000 Discovery and a 2004 Discovery and was wandering if some of the reliability issues that plag these also are a problem with the Freelander? Are they more or less or about the same as far as reliability and cost of ownership?

i've heard nothing but terrible things about the freelanders reliability. more so than any other rover. the lr2 is a different story altogether they have volvo engines and have a complete redisign.

I have both. Had more problems with the disco than the freelander but both are pretty reliable.

Land Rover is embarrased to have ever put their name on the Freelander. Rover techs hate working on them, and they are notoriously un reliable. Stick with a Disco

Default I too have heard the newer LR2's are great

The Freelander did have a lot of reliability problems, but I heard now that Land Rover has had a lot of time to slowly improve that the newer LR2 models are excellent.
