Default Help me pls!!!!! 2008 LR2

Hi guys,

I have a huge problem, I recently had a loner 2008 LR2 while my Jag was being serviced at the dealership, and the top display for the middle radio unit (not the navi one) went spider web when I turned on the car one morning .

I called the dealership the next day to make sure they were aware of this ahead of time, and was told on the phone that I shouldn't worry about it and that it will be covered under warranty.

One day after I dropped off the vehicle back to them I received a call with them saying that the damage does not look like it will be covered under warranty and that I have to pay up $550 out of my pocket for it /cry.

As much as I tried to convince them to run it under warranty they are saying that it won't cover because the spider web cracks to the crystal display look like it was hit.

One option that they gave me is that I can buy a unit myself (of eBay or where ever) and bring it to them.

Please someone guide me in the right direction because I'm going nuts right now.

Is there any other place I can buy this thing at a cheaper price?

They are saying that $450 is their cost for this thing and plus another $100 for labor.

I would appreciate it very much if I can get some opinions on this.

Thanks in advance.

- Alex

your insurance might cover it but no matter what you are liable for any damage to a rental. nothing you can do.

I don't understand what you mean by "Went spider web when you turned the truck on one morning"

Spiderweb meaning cracked, I have no clue how it could happen to me.

The only thing I can think of is, maybe because of previous damage it cracked due to cold/hot weather???

No clue but the way it's looking I'm going to have to pay $550 for it
