Default HELP-snow coming and my window won't go up!

Hello-

2004 Freelander with a whopping 25K on it!

Today, the right rear passenger window would not go back up.

It will go down, but not up.

Seems to be a common problem as I peruse the threads....most recommend replacing the regulator mechanism.

How do you get the door panel off though? I have pried the panel off the door almost all the way, but I think the interior handle you use to pull the door closed must be keeping the panel on there, yet I see no screws.

Please help me get the panel off! First priority is to push the window up before the snow comes, and the second priority is to fix it (gladly take details on that too!!).

Thanks,
Julian, Colorado

Well-here's the answer, for all those dying to know!!

It was a little less cold outside, so I poked around a bit more and discovered that the interior door handle, which is half black and half silver, splits in half!! You pry the bottom half away from the top half, which reveals the three screws necessary to finish removing the door panel. It took me literally 15 min more to remove the plastic protective film, drop the window, and remove the regulator assembly.

Currently used the cardboard tip to hold the window up (with a nylon zip tie through the window bracket into the access holes in the door skin to prevent the window from falling and shattering) until summer comes round, and I will buy the new assembly. Looks as good as new-just won't work til summer!!!!

Thanks!
Julian
