Default Idling question

Considering a 2008 SE LR2. It looks great and has 3 ootional packages. Just 1 question.
During idling, the engine/RPMs fluctuate between 500-1200 RPM, making "vroom, pause 1 second, vroom, repeat" on its own. Runs, accelerates, everything else great.
I'm new to LR2s, is this normal, or does it need servicing? Timing, idler valve, etc?
Thanks in advance!
