If I buy a diff head unit will my steering controls work? - Land Rovers Only

Just wondering if any of you have swapped out your stock head unit for an aftermarket, and if the steering mounted radio controls still work. I would like a head unit that is XM ready. Thanks!

BTW I can't rememer if I've changed my Avatar or whatever its called, but if it still shows my Disco, no, I didn't post on the wrong board. I have a Freelander now.

Hi!
I replaced my stock unit with a Clarion mp3 player last year.
The steering controls doesnt responde at all. They told me that need an extra module to make it work. This module costs about 150$. Didnt buy it!
