Knocking noise

I have a 2002 Land Rover Freelander and recently the engine has started knocking. The check engine light has not come on and there is no smell of metal on metal coming from the engine with no loss of power. The vehicle does have 111,000 miles, 32,000 miles over the past 2 years. The vehicle has been regularly maintained and was just curious what everyone thougth this could be? I have 3 years left on my loan and am worried that it is going to die on me.

Damn you have that many miles on it. Same engine. There is hope for us. But seriously my 04 some times knocks alittle on start up and quickley disminishes. Hows the oil and coolant levels? Good luck
