I agree with Prodigy999 about the software problems on the early 08 as that is what I have, although I am still happy with my purchase as the software updates installed by dealership brought it up to speed with the later models with no headache and the ealry off-the-line glitches were minimal and expected by an intelligent buyer. I was a little shocked at the current selling price that I have found as I try and keep up with that sort of thing as it is now around 24K for my macked out early 2008 LR2 that I bought for 41K in August of 2007. Fortunately, I have found through my research that the value in this vehicle takes a big hit up front, but expectations are that it will remain in the 20-25K range for another 4-5 years, so that is awesome! The things that affect the initial hit on the LR2 are the 3 upgrade packages (technology, light/sound, and winter sport). Anytime you have an all-inclusive vehicle with very little options available to be added and/or subtracted, most of the up front luxury/package stuff gets immediately discarded in value. This is the case with most luxury/performance lines and especially toy lines such as Jeep where all the aftermarket stuff is never factored into the value until 5-10 years later, when it actually helps it keep it's value over other less customized/packaged vehicles.
