Default LR2 Retained Power Question

I have a 2008 LR2, and I am trying to program the Nav system, and even roll down the windows, without starting the engine. Normally, I would just turn the key to "ON", rather than start the engine. However, this car has the "fob slot" and pushbutton start, and it seems that the only way I can work the Nav or windows is by pressing the power button, which starts the engine. Also, when I shut the car off, the nav turns off, so I have to sit in the driveway with the engine running to work the nav. This is very frustrating, and I CANNOT find any mention of an on-no-engine setting in the manual. Radio is different: I can press the power button for it and work it regardless of engine status. Help!

Leave the key in and push the start button and hold it down. everything will power up without starting.

you need to have your foot on the brake to start it up.
